HAMPTON DESIGNER SHOWHOUSE 2011: THE LANDING PAD

Our assignment was the upstairs landing–a small, irregularly shaped space. We imagined the family who lived here to be passionate about aviation. Our creation was “The Landing Pad,” a hangout space for reading, board games and homework. Every detail was inspired by aviation, from the propeller-like ceiling fixture to walls designed to replicate the outside of an airplane and yellow stripes that recall an old valise.
